They currently reside in Tsalaguwetiyi and Mvskoke lands (otherwise known as Metro Atlanta, GA). Their multifaceted practice spans various artistic disciplines.
Minniefield's work explores themes of community, resistance, beauty, and joy, with a particular focus on the complexities of Black trans identity and the interwoven experiences of the Black South. Through their art, they engage in the act of memory-keeping, drawing from Afrofuturism, ancestral patterns to construct a rich anthology of collective memory. Working across mediums such as public art mural works, digital illustration, installations, and collage. Minniefield’s practice invites a continuous dialogue between past, present, and future.
They are currently rooted in a community exchange as both the steward and co-founder of FOR OUR SIBS, a Black trans-led mutual-aid collective, and the BlaQueer Artist Market, an underground creative ecosystem dedicated to supporting local Black queer and transgender artists in Atlanta.
Their work has been recognized and featured by prominent brands and institutions, including the Hambidge Center of the Arts, the National Black Artist Festival, The Center Cultural Power, AfroTech, THEM Magazine, Facebook, I.D. Magazine, the WNBA, Living Walls, and Arts & Entertainment Atlanta, among others.
